For in-vitro research use only — not for human or veterinary consumption.

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: placeholder date — confirm before launch.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Protiva, a trading name of TBC LTD (Company No. TBC), registered in the United Kingdom at TBC, United Kingdom. VAT registration: TBC. These details are placeholders and will be confirmed before launch. You can reach us at support@protiva.local.

2. Eligibility

By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that you are based in Great Britain, and that you are acquiring our products solely for lawful in-vitro scientific research. You confirm you are competent to handle research chemicals safely and lawfully.

3. Research use only & prohibited uses

All products are supplied strictly as chemical reference materials for in-vitro laboratory research and development. They are not medicines, food, cosmetics, or supplements. You must not, and must not assist any third party to, use, supply or represent any product for:

  • human consumption, ingestion, injection or any form of administration;
  • veterinary or animal use of any kind;
  • in-vivo, clinical, diagnostic or therapeutic purposes;
  • incorporation into food, drink, cosmetics, or consumer products.

Any use outside qualified in-vitro research is a breach of these terms and is undertaken entirely at your own risk.

4. Orders & payment verification

A contract is formed only when we confirm dispatch of your order. Payment is taken via Pay-by-Bank (Open Banking) through our payment partner. We may verify orders and, at our discretion, decline or cancel any order — for example where we cannot verify the purchaser, suspect misuse, or identify an error in pricing or stock. Where payment has been taken for a cancelled order, we will refund it.

5. Pricing & VAT

Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP). We aim to keep pricing accurate, but errors may occur; where a price is clearly incorrect we may cancel the affected order and refund any sum paid. Any applicable VAT treatment will be confirmed on your order documentation once our VAT status is finalised.

6. Shipping & transfer of risk

We ship to Great Britain only. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery to the address you provide. Full details are set out in our Shipping Policy.

7. Returns

Because our products are research chemicals, we cannot accept returns once an order has been dispatched, except where goods arrive damaged or incorrect. See our Refunds & Returns Policy for the full terms.

8. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the safe receipt, storage, handling, use and disposal of all products in accordance with good laboratory practice and applicable law, and for ensuring that anyone you allow to access them is suitably qualified and informed.

9. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our total liability to you arising from or in connection with any order is limited to the price paid for the products in that order. We are not liable for any loss arising from use of a product otherwise than for lawful in-vitro research, or from your failure to handle products safely.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses or costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of any product, or your use of a product for any purpose other than lawful in-vitro research.

11. Right to withdraw products

We may add, restrict, withdraw or discontinue any product at any time, including where a product becomes subject to additional regulation. We are not obliged to supply any product.

12. Content is informational only

Information on this site is provided for general laboratory reference only and does not constitute medical, scientific or professional advice. No therapeutic or health claim is made or implied about any product.

13. Data protection

We handle personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
